Whether you’re looking for fresh produce, plants for your garden, freshly baked pies or baked goods, Cherry Street Market in Kalkaska has been the go-to spot for almost 30 years. We spoke with Cherry Street’s manager, Evann, and here is what they had to say about being a family-owned staple in the community for so long.
What type of products or services do you offer the community?
We are a full-service produce store with a garden center, baked goods, and more.
How long has your business been in Kalkaska?
Almost 30 years.
What is your favorite part of being a business owner in Kalkaska?
Personally, I feel like every year we are starting a new business since we close for the winter months and reopen each Spring. Local and visitors alike have made this a staple in the community and when they come in with big smiles on their faces it makes us smile to know that we are here for the community, rejuvenating us to keep going. We’ve made lots of connections and relationships over the years and its really great to know that the community supports us.
What is something a lot of people don’t know about your business?
We provide custom-made and grab-and-go deli sandwiches available for lunch. We are also a family-owned business.
Do you have any upcoming specials, deals or news to share for 2021?
We are looking forward to hopefully planning a thirtieth anniversary celebration soon.
